A crane bridgeequipped with a trolley and a hoist canbe projected out of one end of the carand any given number of standardweights can be placed on the small truckand run out on the scale platform. Most track scales have four pairs offirst levers and the scales are tested byobserving the scale reading for a knownamount of standard weights on the scale.Weights may be gradually added to thetruck, giving readings at a number ofpoints on the scale.
