Point Reyes Lighthouse Restoration Project: The Lighthouse Surrounded by a "Shroud" - December 1, 2018
Summary
By December 1, 2018, contractors had surrounded the lighthouse tower in a "shroud." The "shroud," made of nylon reinforced weatherproof fabric, provides several protective measures, which include capturing sand blasted materials to prevent them from being released into the environment, protecting the cast iron tower from rain and salt spray, and creating a work environment that is more protected from harsh weather conditions. However, a wind storm shredded one section of the shroud.
