This is a name applied to the in-elastic tissue which is used for binding every part ofthe body together. A scar,after an injury tothe soft part of thebody, is a collec-tion of connectivetissue cells that na-ture has used tofill up the gap. Thestiffness in a joint after rheumatism is caused by thegrowth of this tissue in the parts which were inflamed.It is one of the supporting tissues of the body and isfound most abundant in all the tendons, ligaments, andsheaths of the body which are used to bind the variousparts together.
