description

Summary

Pfc. Yuriy Lashchuk, born in Krivoy-Rog, Ukraine, raised his right hand and repeated the Oath of Allegiance to become an American citizen, during a naturalization ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Nov. 9. An infantryman assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division's C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Lashchuk has lived in Sacramento, Calif., since his family immigrated to the U.S. when he was 7 years old. He is currently deployed to Iraq with the 2/82 “Falcon Brigade” in support of Operation New Dawn.
