Summary

U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Jeremy Vought of Coudersport, PA, is presented the Maj. Megan McClung Award by one of his instructors, U.S. Army Maj. Jason Shropshire, during the Public Affairs Qualification Course graduation ceremony Aug. 1, 2013, at the Defense Information School, Fort George G. Meade, Md. McClung, a Defense Information School graduate, was killed in action on Dec. 6, 2006, while escorting news media representatives in Iraq's Al Anbar Province. The award named in her honor goes to the military graduate of each Public Affairs Qualification Course class who best exemplifies McClung's selflessness, high energy and commitment to mission accomplishment.
