Summary
Painting, handscroll. Playful pictures (giga) on New Year subjects: branch of young pine with charcoal; dried persimmon; prawns; small lacquered table bearing cooked sea bream; sprays of camellia and cherry. Also pictures depicting: demons fleeing in confusion; beans being hurled at them at Setsubun festival; Daikoku and Jurojin with ladder; servant having his back massaged by old woman; Ushiwakamaru and Benkei; "wisteria maiden" washing her hair; catfish with gourd. Ink and light colour on paper. Signed, sealed and inscribed on accompanying letter and certificate.
