Summary
PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 29, 2015) - Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Steven Rojas directs a fire hose team's movements to a simulated crash scene during an aircraft firefighting (ACFF) drill on the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25). Somerset is currently conducting a routine underway for crew’s certification off the coast of Southern California. The ninth San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, Somerset is named in honor of the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed near Shanksville, Pa., in Somerset County during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
