Our Allosaurus Fragilis skull. - Public domain natural history illustration
Summary
This is a skull of an Allosaurus Fragilis, one of the prevalent meat eaters found in the Morrison Formation during the Late Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago. The Allosaurus was our second largest predator dinosaur, but probably was the most prolific, and one of the better hunters. This skull was found in one piece, with only minor distortion by the University of Utah groups working on the wall. It was probably discovered in 1925.
