Old Selfridge newspaper, Air National Guard
Summary
The “Stoppages and Jams” newspaper was the official newspaper of the School of Aerial Gunnery at Selfridge Field during World War I. This edition of the paper from Oct. 25, 1918, was recently discovered by a man in Indiana, who forwarded it to the 127th Wing at Selfridge for inclusion in the Selfridge Military Air Museum. The 8-page paper highlights a restriction to base due to a flu epidemic and includes a number of poems, evidently written by soldiers assigned to the base.
