Summary

William Augustine Newland (1813-1901), Philadelphia organist, choirmaster, conductor, and music teacher. Charles Zeuner (1795-1857), student of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, settled in Boston in the 1820s and became well-known as an organist and composer.

Many of the original 2000 or more items from the collection are cataloged and classified in the Music Division's general collection.

The collection was purchased in 1929.
