Lynn Welling, commanding officer of Naval Hospital Jacksonville, addresses nearly 50 patients, hospital staff and guests during a press conference at the hospital receipt of the international Baby Friendly certification. With Welling are Heather Huffman, chair of the Northeast Florida Breastfeeding Collaborative, and Glo Scurry-Smith, representative for Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. The Baby Friendly certification is an international designation illustrating commitment to supporting a mother's decision to breastfeed and ultimately helping reduce the risk of common childhood infections, asthma and diabetes. Naval Hospital Jacksonville became the fourth hospital in Florida, third military facility and 119th facility in the U.S. with this designation.
