Nakagami Motohiro - Tsuba with Horses and Court Attendants - Walters 51328 - Back
Summary
On the front of this tsuba, two horses are shown tied to pine trees. Branches of the pine trees extend across the top. The horses are at the lower right. On the reverse are two court attendants near a curtain and fence rails. The fence seems to indicate the racing track from the annual horse races at Kamigamo shrine in Kyoto. The curtain would have been hung to shield high ranking spectators, such as the riders of the horses on the front.
