Edmondo Behles was famous for his photographs of landscapes, architecture and people taken during his travels in Italy and Europe. Behles was interested in photography from a young age and began his career as a photographer in the late 1860s. He opened his own studio in Milan, specialising in portrait photography. However, he soon became interested in landscape and architectural photography, which led him to travel extensively throughout Italy and Europe. Behles was particularly interested in capturing the beauty of the Italian countryside and the architecture of historic buildings. He also photographed many famous landmarks, including the Colosseum in Rome and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Behles was a skilled photographer who used a large format camera to capture his images. He was renowned for his attention to detail and his ability to capture the essence of a scene. Today, Behles' photographs are highly regarded for their artistic and historical value. They provide a unique insight into life in Italy in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
