110321-M-0761B-142.MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 21, 2011) Marines assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU) conduct electronic checks on a CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopters before taking off to rescue a downed Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle pilot and weapons officer. The aviators experienced mechanical problems while supporting Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn. Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn is the U.S. Africa Command task force established to provide operational and tactical command and control of U.S. military forces supporting the international response to the unrest in Libya and enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1973.
