El malón o maloca era una táctica militar de los mapuches, que consistía en un ataque rápido y sorpresivo de un nutrido número de guerreros contra un grupo enemigo, ya fueran parcialidades mapuches enemigas o poblaciones y fortificaciones blancas (huincas) en Chile y Argentina, con el objetivo de obtener ganado, provisiones y secuestrando eventualmente a mujeres jóvenes.
