Konstantin Yegorovich Makovsky (1839-1915) was a renowned Russian painter, known for his contributions to the realist and historical genres. Born in Moscow into a family of artists, he received his initial training at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He later continued his studies at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St Petersburg.
