Maj. Craig Clarkson, detachment commander of the 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, cuts a cake Nov. 10, in celebration of the Corps' 237th birthday at the Point Breeze Volunteer Fire Department in Breezy Point, N.Y. The Marines used a KA-BAR knife to cut the ckae instead of the traditional Non-Commissioned Officer's Sword. The Marines have been working in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Army Corps of Engineers, the Army National Guard and local authorities, to clear out roads and access ways to help residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.
