L0Q6ING IN WASHINGTON—THE OLD AND THE NEW POWER. 890 LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERING. Logging Scenes in Washington. In connection with the logging scenesshown, an esteemed correspondent inWashington writes us: I send you :ifew photographs showing how loggingis done in this section. These pictures donot show any especially large logs, butjust those that arc taken out here everyday. Puget Sound logs are very large,as compared with Minnesota, Wisconsin of these trees will furnish enough lumberto fill several ordinary box cars. I have taken Locomotive Engineer-ing since 1892, when I was 14 years old.I may have been your youngest subscriberat that time for all I know. I wish youwould inquire through your columns ifthere are or were any younger, and I cantestify to the merits of the paper by sayingthat I have not missed a single number
