^ V^f^^^l^f c,; Heres the picture of another Grasshopper I want to tell youabout, which has been found in New Guinea. It is called the GreatShielded Grasshopper, and a strange fellow he is. He is not avery lively creature ; but he does not need speed, for he looks somuch like the leaves that no one would suspect him to be aninsect. In the first place, his wins;s—which are more than nine inchesacross when open—are exactly like two green leaves, beautifullyveined like a genuine leaf, and of the shining green color of manytropica) leaves. Then over the back, beginning at the top of thehead, he carries what appears to be another leaf, and frrv-i whichhe is named. It is two inches and a half long, of a stiff, horny 200 LITTLE FOLKS consistency. The edges are notched like a leaf, and there is afaint line through the middle, like a leaf. In fact, you may almostput your hand on him before you find out that he isnt a little bunchof three leaves, but a big Grasshopper. IN FEATHERS AND FUR.
