description

Summary

New Orleans, c. late 1935. "Movie theatre on Saint Charles Street. Liberty Theater, 420 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana".

View shows a portion of the front of the cinema, entrance doors (roped off) and ticket booth, advertisements for the currently-showing film The Rainmakers, accompanied by posters and mockups of Morton's Salt containers, apparently for a commercial promotion.

The theater was later demolished, and as of 1980 the location is now occupied by the Pan American Life Center, 601 Poydras Street.
