Letter from Samuel Edmund Sewall, State St[reet, Boston, Massachusetts], to William Lloyd Garrison, [1830] Oct[ober] 27
Summary
Samuel E. Sewall writes to William Lloyd Garrison telling him that it is "important if you wish your lecture to be well attended" to place a notice in Boston newspapers. Sewall advises Garrison to contact the "two of the principal [newspapers], - say the Daily Advertiser and the Patriot", while he offers to speak to the editors about the notice. He also says that he will "be happy to pay the expense of advertising tomorrow morning" if they decline to publish the announcement for free.
