Letter from Joseph Cassey, Philad[elphi]a, [Pennsylvania], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1833 March 23d

description

Summary

Joseph Cassey writes to William Lloyd Garrison reminding him of his last letter discussing copies of the Abolitionist which have not been delivered to subscribers in Philadelphia. Cassey says "this extraordinary delay has caused some complaints and disatisfaction [sic]." He then lists the names and addresses of some subscribers to the Abolitionist and the Liberator who have not received their copies, as well as the names of subscribers who have paid since his last letter to Garrison. Cassey also tells Garrison a public meeting will be called "with a view of passing resolutions approbating your course in behalf of humanity and especially your efforts against slavery and colonization." He comments on the news of emancipation in the British West Indies and remarks that Garrison's "arrival in England will probably [be] at a very interesting period."
