Letter from John Shoemaker Tyson, [Baltimore, Maryland], [1830]
Summary
This document lists a series of questions, or "interrogatives," that were written by "John S. Tyson At[torne]y for Def[endan]t" to ask witnesses supporting Garrison in his defence. Some of these questions are, "What vessels have been owned by the plaintiff [Francis Todd] within the last two or twelve years?" and "Have you any knowledge of the employment of any other vessel belonging to the said Todd in the said Southern slave trade?" The document is signed by William Gibson, the clerk of the Maryland Circuit Court (Baltimore County), and states that it is a "true copy."
