Letter from Henry Clarke Wright, New Garden, [Ohio], to Helen Eliza Garrison and William Lloyd Garrison, 1854 April 28
Summary
Henry Clarke Wright writes to William Lloyd and Helen Garrison telling them that Joseph Barker and his wife, along with Mary Shackleton, "the idolized friend of R.D. Webb," will be in Boston the following week. Wright calls Shackleton "an extraordinary character" and asks them to "receive her to your house till she sails" for England, promising "you will be interested in her." He regrets that he does not have his own home to invite her to and says "I have no Domestic life apart from you and yours." Before ending the letter, Wright shares his travel plans for the coming week.
