People in bathing costumes in outdoor swimming pool, pier and ship visible in background...Thanks to sharon.corbet ( /photos/129555378@N07/ ) we know this photo is of the Public baths at Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. Sharon tellus thet the baths were later transformed into Rainbow Rapids. The site has been derelict since the 1990's. ..There are plans to improve the site over the next few years. ..Dun Laoghaire was home town to OwenMacC ( /photos/91549360@N03/ ) where he enjoyed many days at the baths. Just from the sight of the ships funnels in the background he was able to identify the ships as the Cambria and the Hibernia, both served from 1921-1949...Owens note on the ships helped Niall McAuley ( /photos/gnmcauley/ ) narrow the date range from 1860 - 1930 to 1921 - 1930....Photographers: Dillon Family. .Contributors: Luke Gerald Dillon, Augusta Caroline Dillon. .Collection: The Clonbrock photographic Collection ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000315679# ) . .Date: c.1920-1930. .NLI Ref: CLON1782 ( vtls000523812 ) . .You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie ( http://catalogue.nli.ie )
