Español: La obra representa la Jura de Santa Gadea, acontecimiento supuestamente histórico ocurrido en el siglo XI, y en la que Alfonso VI, rey de Castilla y León, hubo de jurar ante Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, llamado "el Cid Campeador", que no había tomado parte en el asesinato de su hermano, el rey Sancho II de Castilla, quien fue asesinado ante los muros de la ciudad de Zamora.
