Summary

Print depicts Swedish troops in battle with the forces of Peter the Great of Russia in the first battle of Narva (Swedish occupied Estonia) in 1700. Print also includes engraved portrait of Charles XII, King of Sweden in a laurel wreathed cartouche at the upper left corner and coat of arms in the upper right corner of the print. The walled city of Narva and Ivangorod fortress are seen in the background. Also included is a picture of a bearded Russian peasant farmer in fur hat and coat and boots, carrying a satchel, pipe and walking stick, facing left.
