Summary
Kevin Pannell (left) paddles a sit-on-top kayak along side Melanie Kaplan, in the waters off of Cinnamon Bay, St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Kaplan helped organize a trip to the islands for seven veterans who lost limbs in the Iraq and Vietnam conflincts. Pannell, who lost his right leg below the knee and his left leg above the knee while serving in Iraq, and his comrades learned to sea kayak and snorkel while on the trip.
