Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes (1908) (ADVERT 456)
Summary
In 1898, W.K. Kellogg created a process for flaking corn. Eight years later, he founded the Toasted Corn Flake Co. in Battle Creek, Michigan. Kellogg differentiated the cereal from Post Toasties by marketing it as the "only genuine Toasted Corn Flakes" and including his hallmark signature on every box and advertisement.
