Japanese - Tsuba with a Dragon among Clouds - Walters 51157 - Back
Summary
Along the right edge of this tsuba is the body of dragon flying through clouds. Dragons are a regular motif in Chinese and Japanese art. They are considered powerful creatures and are often depicted with clouds or storms. On the reverse of the tsuba, a segment of the dragon that is hidden by clouds on the front is revealed.
