Japanese medical service in Nanking01

description

Summary

This is a photograph taken by a Japanese correspondent on December 20, 1937, during Nanjing Massacre. It was published in January 1938 by a Japanese photograph magazine, which adds a caption "sanitary team works for Chinese in Nanking refugee district". However, George Fitch, a Nanjing Massacre witness, refuted the Japanese propaganda when he read an article titled Japanese offer medical care to Nanking patients in a Japanese newspaper. He wrote in his diaries that "we would have laughed aloud, if things taking place in Nanking were not so miserable."日本語: 南京避難民地区の中国人に施療を行う日本軍衛生班(1937年12月20日)
