He has beentreasurer of the Gleasondale Methodist churchfor the past twenty-four years, though not amember of the same. Mr. Gleasons long continued close applica-tion to business began to show its effects on anot too rugged constitution, and in April,1887, a superintendent was secured to relievehim of the details of manufacture, and a fewyears later, being unable to attend to business,was represented by his son until August, 1899,when he retired from the firm. Mr. Gleason married, January 25, 1866,Lucy Woods Peters, daughter of John HowePeters, of Feltonville, (now Hudson), Massa-chusetts. Mrs. Gleason is a member of theFirst Baptist chuch of Hudson. They haveone son, Albert Howe Gleason. Their home isthe old Gleason homestead at Gleasondale,built in 1847-8, which has been remodelled andimproved, and the grounds beautified by
