Health care specialists practice starting an IV and pushing medications that they determine will help a simulated patient during the Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced course at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Medical Simulation Training Center, April 15, 2015. The EMT-A course gives the Soldiers a better understanding of why they do what they do and how it affects patients. They can also test for the National Registry and earn promotion points.
