VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May. 06, 2010) Gunner's Mate 1st Class John Mathewson, from Glocester, R.I., field-strips an M-4 carbine for an inspection. Mathewson was recently named the Naval Special Warfare Group (NSWG) 4 shore-side Sailor of the Year for the second year in a row. Mathewson also earned the title of Naval Special Warfare Command Sailor of the Year, and last week, he was named as one of the top five Sailors competing for the Vice Chief of Naval Operations Sailor of the Year title.
