Demitri Evert, left, set up an M249 Squad Automatic Weapon on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Belles and Evert are machine gunners with Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
