Summary

Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen sniger sig over volden omkring Jungshoved Slot efter et besøg hos hans elsker Julie Parsberg. Vagten har søgt ly for kulden i sit skilderhus og bemærker ham ikke. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.

English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, sneaks over the rampart around Jungshoved Castle after a visit at his lover Julie Parsberg. The guard has taking cover for the cold and don't notice him. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
