description

Summary

George H. Sabo, brother of Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr., and Col. Bret G. Silvia, commander of 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), unveil the plaque that will hang in the newly dedicated Sabo Physical Fitness Center during a ceremony Sept. 9, 2015. Leslie Sabo’s heroic actions would remain unknown to the world until the original Medal of Honor citation was discovered and published in 1999 by a fellow Vietnam veteran. Sabo served with 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st, during the Vietnam War in 1970. He did not receive the Medal of Honor until 2012. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
