Summary

Gen. Mike Holmes, Air Combat Command commander, presents the Gallant Unit Citation to Lt. Col. Craig Morash, 74th Fighter Squadron commander, March 14, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. When deployed, the 74th FS becomes the 74th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (EFS), whose mission is to provide close air support, air interdiction and combat search and rescue to facilitate Operation INHERENT RESOLVE objectives. The 74th EFS distinguished itself by extraordinary heroism while engaged in conflict with an opposing force from July 15, 2017, to Jan. 15, 2018. During this time, the 74th EFS flew over 1,600 sorties and 10,000 hours in support of the operation, striking nearly 2,500 targets and killing 3,100 Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters.
