Summary
S66-24580 (23 April 1966) --- The two crews of the Gemini-9 spaceflight appear before a gathering of news media representatives during a press conference in the MSC News Center, Building 6. Left to right, are astronauts Eugene A. Cernan, prime crew pilot; Thomas P. Stafford, prime crew command pilot; James A. Lovell Jr., backup crew command pilot; and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., backup crew pilot. A Gemini spacecraft model and a model of an astronaut wearing an Astronaut Maneuvering Unit (in background) were used to explain the Gemini-9 mission.
