description

Summary

Fish Protein Concentrate (FPC) has the potential of feeding the world. Special processing plants, such as the Alpine FPC Plant at New Bedford, Mass., convert fish like hake into a powder which is nearly pure protein. This flour from the sea has no taste and can be added to a wide variety of foods to increase the nutritional value. The United States Agency for International Development has contracted for the production of FPC for pilot marketing projects in Chile.
