A couple of men on a boat in the water, possibly related to: Aboard a trap fishing boat, pulling the net into the boat. The trap, which is nothing but a gigantic net, is pulled into the boat on one side and thrown overboard on the other until finally a small pocket is made where fish mill around by the thousands. Sometimes several big tuna, locally called horse mackerel, must be gaffed and brought aboard. This is a struggle because tuna weigh between 300 and 800 pounds. The rest of the fish, whiting, mackerel, and squid are dipped aboard with a hand net. Provincetown, Massachusetts

Summary
Drawing shows two Far"e islanders on a rowboat. One stands and pushes against rocks with a long pole while the other sits and rows. Taylor visited the Faroe Islands in 1862, perhaps en route to Russia.
