The bowl, thestand and the band be-tween were separate anddistinct pieces, their lineof contact being con-cealed by gilt mouldings.The body-color of thisvase is deep blue of sur-passing richness and bril-liancy. Thecentral medallion con-tains a remarkably cred-itable painting afterGuido Renes Aurora.The perfection to whichthe chemically preparedcolors for painting on pot-tery have been broughtin Germany is well ex-exemplified in this vase.That most beautiful ofall textiles—lace—had avery full and completerepresentation at theCentennial Exhibition.
