Summary
Significance: Enterprise Plantation is located in Iberia Parish, between New Iberia and Jeanerette, in Patoutville, Louisiana. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Enterprise Plantation is one of the few operating plantations that is still owned by the descendants of the original builder and retains a number of its support buildings. M.A. Patout and Son, LTD. has grown to be the largest producer of sugar in Louisiana.
