ts onthe buildings are reflected in the placid waters of the Grand Basinand lagoons. A journey of two and one-half miles can be madethrough the Grand Basin across the base of the Cascades around 110. y.- lal.\lu on the gr.\nd b.\sin. series parallel controller gives three speeds forward and two onreverse. The motors were supplied by the Hertner Electric Com-pany and are of 2-hp, compound-wound, four-pole, with ball, thrustand axle bearings. On account of the slack water and the lagoonsbeing sheltered from the winds, a boat will run 100 miles on acharge. At present they are in service from five to six hours aday, and the busiest time is from 5 to 10 P.M. The charging station for the launches is under the bridge just westof the Electricity Building, from whence is received a 250-volt supplyof current. Along the bank are leads to thirty-two Anderson auto-mobile charging plugs, two batteries being charged on each circuit.At the switchboard are the wattmeter, volt and ammeters, pilot lamps
