Drawing, Design for a Necklace, ca. 1780 (CH 18552257-2)
Summary
Jewelry design for a necklace. The chain around the neck consists of printed ovals containing a scroll of ribbon between two rows of disks, à jour, connected by knots. Hanging from the central one is a drop with a small knot above. The hanging chains are composed of similar ovals and knots, but the character of a ribbon is more emphasized. They are fastened by a knot, with ends hanging down interlaced, and supporting three drops.
