Summary

Reproduction of photograph of two Curtiss JN-4 training aircraft. The one nearest the camera bears the number C696, a roundel, and a castle on the tail fin. This was Captain Vernon Castle's favourite aircraft (and the one in which he died). There are other images ( http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=23121382@N07&q=C696&m=text ) of this aircraft in the collection. Castle was a member of 84 C.T.S. (Canadian Training Squadron), based at Camp Mohawk, one of the Royal Flying Corps camps near Deseronto, Ontario, in the First World War.
