Improved Combing Machine* Our Improved Combing Machine will comb cotton from y%staple to ^ staple without further change than setting or timing.This machine contains several features which are improvementson our old style machine, constiruting a great advance, and largelyincreasing the economical value of the machine on all kinds ofstock. The specialties to be noticed in the construction of thismachine are as follows :— Two sets of lifter and nipper cams are used instead of one setas in our old style of machine. By this construction torsion of thenipper and lifter shafts is prevented and a better nip secured.The cams have been remodelled so as to eliminate the vibrationsin the machine to a great extent, thereby rendering it possible toobtain a greater production, with equal quality, by increasing thespeed to 100 nips per minute where formerly 85 nips was consid-ered the limit.
