Descendants of Maj. Gen. Winston P. Wilson, the chief of the National Guard Bureau (1963-1971), stand outside Wilson Hall, Nov 9, 2001, during the building’s dedication at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center on McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee. Retired Army Col. Robert M. Wilson, fourth from left, was General Wilson’s brother who spoke at the event. General Wilson was the first Air Force officer named as NGB Chief. He died on New Year’s Eve in 1996.
