Summary

Army Curtis Hawk with NACA cowling. This Curtiss AT-5A is equipped to test a NACA cowling, November 1928. It was the work done on the NACA cowling which brought Langley the Collier Trophy in 1929. Although carrying an Advanced Trainer designation, the Curtiss model 34M AT-5As were later classed in the Pursuit category and called P-1Fs.
