These visits symbolize the continuation of normalized relations between the United States and Vietnam. Curtis Wilbur is part of the Kitty Hawk Carrier Strike Group (CSG), the Navys only permanently forward deployed carrier strike group, currently operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
